Shipping policy
Effective Date: October 1, 2026
Last Updated: October 1, 2026
1. Introduction
IR Conservancy is committed to ensuring that physical publications purchased through our website are processed, packaged, and delivered in a professional and timely manner.
This Shipping Policy outlines our procedures for processing orders, calculating shipping costs, arranging delivery, and addressing shipping-related enquiries for physical books, printed articles, research publications, and other printed materials offered for sale through our website.
This policy applies to physical products only. Any digital publications or downloadable resources will be subject to the applicable terms stated at the point of purchase.
2. Order Processing
Orders will be processed after payment has been successfully received and confirmed.
Our standard order-processing time is [insert number of business days] business days, excluding weekends and Jamaican public holidays.
Processing includes order verification, preparation of the publication, packaging, and handover to the selected delivery or courier service.
Orders placed outside normal business hours, during public holidays, or during periods of high demand may require additional processing time. Where a significant delay is anticipated, we will endeavour to notify the affected customer.
Customers purchasing pre-order publications or items that are temporarily unavailable will be advised of the applicable expected dispatch date.
3. Shipping Locations
IR Conservancy intends to offer delivery within Jamaica and, where available, to selected international destinations.
Domestic Shipping — Jamaica
Delivery will be arranged to the address provided by the customer at checkout. Available delivery methods, applicable charges, and estimated delivery times will be displayed or communicated before the order is finalised.
International Shipping
International delivery will be offered only to destinations supported by our selected shipping providers. International shipping availability, costs, and estimated delivery times will be communicated at checkout or before payment is completed.
We reserve the right to decline delivery to destinations that our shipping providers cannot service or where applicable restrictions prevent shipment.
4. Shipping Fees and Delivery Estimates
Shipping charges will depend on factors such as the delivery destination, package weight and dimensions, shipping method, and applicable courier fees.
The shipping cost applicable to an order will be displayed at checkout or otherwise communicated to the customer before the order is confirmed.
Estimated delivery times will depend on the destination, selected delivery service, courier operations, and any applicable customs clearance procedures.
Unless a specific delivery date has been expressly agreed, delivery estimates are indicative rather than guaranteed. We will, however, take reasonable steps to fulfil orders within the agreed delivery period or, where no period has been specified, within a reasonable time.
Any material changes to an agreed delivery arrangement will be communicated to the customer as appropriate.
5. Order Confirmation and Tracking
Customers will receive an order confirmation through the email address supplied at checkout, where the relevant confirmation facility is available.
Where tracking is provided by the delivery service, we will make the tracking reference or link available to the customer after dispatch.
Customers are encouraged to use the tracking information provided to monitor the progress of their shipments.
If tracking information is unavailable or an order appears to be delayed, customers should contact us using the details provided at the end of this policy.
6. Customer Delivery Information
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery information, including their full name, delivery address, telephone number where required, and email address.
IR Conservancy cannot guarantee successful delivery where an address is incomplete, incorrect, or inaccessible. We will make reasonable efforts to contact the customer if an address issue is identified.
Where a shipment is returned because of incorrect information supplied by the customer, a failed delivery attempt, or failure to collect the shipment, we will contact the customer, where possible, to determine the next appropriate step.
Any additional delivery charges will be communicated before a further delivery is arranged. This provision does not affect any rights or remedies the customer may have under applicable law.
7. Delayed, Lost, or Undelivered Shipments
Although we will take reasonable care when preparing and dispatching orders, delivery may occasionally be affected by courier disruptions, adverse weather, customs procedures, public holidays, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If your order has not arrived within the estimated delivery period, please contact us with your order reference. We will make reasonable efforts to investigate the shipment with the relevant delivery provider and advise you of the available next steps.
Where an order is confirmed as lost or remains undelivered beyond the agreed delivery period, we will work with the customer to resolve the matter in accordance with the circumstances, the applicable order terms, and Jamaican consumer protection law.
Nothing in this section removes any rights a customer may have because of a failure to deliver goods as agreed.
8. Damaged, Incorrect, or Missing Items
Customers are encouraged to examine their shipment upon receipt.
If a publication arrives damaged, an incorrect item has been supplied, or an item is missing from the order, please notify us as soon as reasonably possible, preferably within [insert preferred reporting period] days of receipt or the expected delivery date.
Please provide:
- Your order reference and contact details.
- A description of the problem.
- Photographs of any visible damage, where applicable.
We will review the issue and determine the appropriate remedy, which may include a replacement, refund, or other suitable resolution, subject to the circumstances and applicable law.
A reporting period stated in this policy is intended to help us investigate shipping problems promptly. It does not remove any statutory rights that may apply.
9. International Customs Duties and Taxes
International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, clearance fees, or other charges imposed by the destination country.
Unless expressly stated otherwise at checkout, these charges are not included in the product price or shipping charge and may be payable by the recipient.
Customers are encouraged to check the import requirements and potential charges applicable in their country before placing an international order.
IR Conservancy cannot determine in advance the final customs charges assessed by another country's authorities. International shipments may also be delayed while customs procedures are completed.
10. Shipping Restrictions and Unforeseen Circumstances
Certain destinations may be subject to shipping restrictions, service suspensions, or other delivery limitations.
Events such as severe weather, natural disasters, public emergencies, industrial disruptions, and significant courier or customs delays may affect normal shipping operations.
Where such circumstances materially affect an order, we will endeavour to inform the customer and communicate any available alternatives.
11. Shipping and Return Policies
This Shipping Policy should be read together with our Returns and Refunds Policy and Website Terms of Use.
Shipping arrangements do not override applicable consumer rights in relation to goods that are defective, damaged, materially different from their description, incomplete, or not delivered as agreed.
Requests concerning unwanted items, cancellations, exchanges, and refunds will be considered under our applicable returns terms and relevant law.
